We like the fact that images can be rapidly captured across a large number of wells (12 minutes for 3x3 stitched brightfield image, 216 images)

When running projects we have multiple options. For example, we have labs where we work with genetically modified organisms; other labs are equipped for food-grade organisms. It is desirable because of quality and efficiency.

In the first place the Cytation 5 was the perfect tool to normalize our extracellular flux analyses. Additionally, the Cytation also helped me to normalize ELISA data with brightfield images from valuable patient monocyte-derived macrophages and to visualize with fluorescent pictures Bodipy-based lipid staining before measuring with flow cytometry. 

During my PhD, I used a lot of equipment for measuring the metabolic activity of many cell types. With the arrival of the Cytation 1, I was able to obtain high-quality brightfield images of white blood cells in a 96-well format.

The advantage of the new flow cytometers is that they are accompanied by user-friendly software, which makes operating the instrument relatively easy.

The Lionheart FX of Agilent Biotek has provided us with a powerful operational range, the ability to image multiple conditions and and a super easy focus tracking. It is being used by multiple groups within the institute and helped initiate many exciting projects.
