Overview

The 405 Touch Microplate Washer features the new patented* Verify™ technology, which runs an automated QC check for manifold tube blockage, and visually reports any failed wells. The patented Ultrasonic Advantage™ can then be used to automatically and thoroughly clean the aspirate and dispense manifolds. The 405 Touch, with the unique Verify and Ultrasonic Advantage features, overcomes the common problem of undetected washer manifold clogging which can lead to assay failure. The 405 Touch is the first self-checking, self-maintaining microplate washer available!

The 405™ Touch Microplate Washer incorporates a high resolution touch screen user interface for intuitive and flexible programming of 96- and 384-well microplate wash protocols. The extensive onboard software seamlessly guides users through protocol development, instrument maintenance and operation. For those who prefer computer control or require 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, the 405 Touch can be controlled with optional LHC™ Software.

Cell-based assays and microsphere-based assays are easily run with the 405 Touch’s unique set of available features and modules for gentle washing vacuum filtration and biomagnetic separation. Overview

The 405™ LS Microplate Washer is the fifth generation BioTek washer, known for superior performance and reliability. Built-in automated buffer switching and "quick-change" manifold designs provide improved ease of use and efficiency when washing 96 and 384 well microplates.

Washer maintenance is critical for excellent assay performance, and the 405 LS now offers the new patented* Verify™ Technology for clog detection and patented Ultrasonic Advantage™ for automated manifold cleaning, making the 405 LS a truly 'self-maintaining' system.

The 405 LS has a simple user interface for creation and execution of wash, dispense, aspirate and maintenance protocols within the extensive onboard software. For use under computer control, BioTek’s LHC™ Software is available in standard and 21 CFR Part 11 compliant versions. The optional BioStack™ is available for walk-away automation of up to 50 microplates.

Cell-based assays are easily processed with the 405 Select LS, with its angled dispense tubes, extensive aspirate and dispense rates and plate position controls providing optimal conditions for washing even fragile cell layers. Magnetic separation and vacuum filtration modules are available for washing magnetic and polystyrene beads used in a growing number of multiplex assays and bead-based ELISAs, such as those developed on the Luminex® xMAP® technology platform. The vacuum filtration feature automates the wash steps of filter bottom plates with five different vacuum levels for optimal performance of filter pore sizes ranging from 0.45 µm to 1.2 µm. The 405 LS is Luminex® xMAP® approved.

A range of configurations for different microplate formats and assay requirements is available for microplate washing, each designed for optimal performance for your plate type and application.

Overview

From the leaders in microplate washing, BioTek introduces the world’s first deep well microplate washer that aspirates and dispenses into 96- and 384-well plates <50 mm in height. ANSI/SBS standard microplates are also accommodated, resulting in a total solution for all of a laboratory’s solid bottom microplate washing needs. The new ELx405™ Select Deep Well Microplate Washer is a robot compatible, full plate washer incorporating BioTek’s patented Dual-Action™ manifold with independent filling and evacuation control for precise overfill washing and overflow protection. Available low-flow rates and angled dispensing make the ELx405 particularly useful in cell-based assays.

Scientists regard unexpected clogging of manifold tubes to be the largest contributor to assay failure. Cleaning these tubes is a time consuming and labor intensive process. With optional patented Ultrasonic Advantage™, BioTek washers are the only products available today with built in ultrasonic cleaners able to automatically prime with cleaning solution, sonicate tubes to remove any protein or salt crystal build up and re-prime with rinse or wash buffer leaving the instrument clean and ready for its next wash.

BioTek's Liquid Handling Control Software provides full PC control of the ELx405 Select Deep Well in a familiar Microsoft Windows® environment, while its intuitive StepWise™ protocol creation makes LHC Software easy to use even for novice users. LHC Secure offers 21 CFR Part 11 compliance with flexible multi-user permission levels and electronic protocol and system audit trail signing additional security is required.

Overview

BioTek's years of experience in the development of both microplate washers and automated systems for EIA applications has culminated in the ELx50™ Strip Washer. As a self contained and programmable instrument, the ELx50 allows for full control of precise fluidic delivery from the gentle dripping of a simple squeeze bottle to the full force of pressure delivery systems.

The new ELx50 Washer is now a truly flexible platform that provides washing capabilities unsurpassed in its class. Newly available models with biomagnetic separation and vacuum filtration capabilities make the ELx50 an excellent choice for automating the wash steps of 96-well magnetic or polystyrene bead assays, such as those developed on the Luminex® xMAP® technology platform. The ELx50 Washer is Luminex® xMAP® approved.Users not requiring an integrated stacker can expect the same great bead washing performance as BioTek’s industry leading full plate washers but here in a more compact footprint. Comprehensive onboard software makes programming quick and easy. Custom magnets, in either flat or ring designs, incorporate high-energy neodymium iron boron magnets for rapid separation of micrometer and nanometer magnetic beads with superior retention. A fast and efficient vacuum filtration module allows vacuum to be adjusted with a range of settings for flexibility with polystyrene beads when using various filter pore sizes and sample viscosities. The vacuum filtration module is also well suited for filtration-to-waste processes such as PCR cleanup after DNA amplification to remove unwanted residues or reaction by-products with filtrate. The washer’s modular platform allows for processing standard solid bottom plates used in a laboratory’s many traditional ELISAs and cell based assays.

The ELx50 can also be equipped with our patented Dual-Action™ 16-channel manifold. This breakthrough design allows for independent control of the dispense and aspiration manifolds for overfill washing and overflow protection in both 96- and 384-well formats. The problem of fitting dispense and aspirate tubes into a much smaller 384-well is solved with the ELx50. Additionally, in a 96-well format, the Dual-Action manifold provides incomparable wash performance with two sets of dispense and aspiration tubes per well. This exclusive method of two-fold aspiration guarantees low residuals.

Automated Liquid Level Sensing

The Liquid Level Alert™ option allows users the convenience of continuous monitoring for both supply and waste bottles. At the beginning and end of a wash protocol, the liquid level is verified to ensure sufficient wash buffer remains in the designated dispense bottle to complete a microplate wash. Sufficient storage capacity in the waste bottle is also verified.
